CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

The Chios degrees (including the Chios Master Teacher degree) are given only under certain conditions—when specific requirements are met by the student and teaching guidelines are carefully observed by the Chios Master Teacher supervising the student's study and granting the degree. These requirements and guidelines are for the purpose of protecting the quality of Chios teaching and the worth of Chios healing degrees. The current requirements are reproduced below. Chios Master Teachers: Be certain you are observing all the official Chios Institute requirments listed on this page, in your teaching work.

Guidelines For Attunements and Degree Certification

Students are taught the Chios levels under the following guidelines, which define the course of study and the requirements for certification:

Attunements: Chios attunements may only be given by Certified Chios Master Teachers who are listed on the Chios Institute approved CCMT list (as posted on this official Chios websites), and only as part of complete course instruction, as detailed below. Chios attunements may not be offered nor performed alone

Degrees: Chios Energy Healing degree certificates may only be granted by Certified Chios Master Teachers listed on the Chios Institute approved CCMT list as of the date of granting. Each certificate must bear the actual physical signature of the CCMT granting the degree, the date of granting and be granted in full compliance with the certification rules below, to be valid.

Certification: Chios healing is taught in three levels, and the student is granted a degree certificate for a level (certified) only after the student is properly attuned, completes a course of study and meets all guidelines and requirements of The Chios Institute, and this is the responsibility of the CCMT granting the degree. At the beginning of each level, the student shall be given the Chios attunement corresponding to that level, whether in-person or by distance. The CCMT is responsible for carefully and completely attuning each student, using the exact procedure in the Chios Master Teacher's Attunements Manual, and each attunement given must be done with great diligence, attention and mental focus. The student may then begin study of the Chios Course Manual corresponding to the level, and practice the healing techniques. The Chios Course Workbook for that level should be completed by the student, during study, and the answers sent to the CCMT (by mail, email or fax) for evaluation according to the answer key provided. For incorrect answers, the CCMT shall request the student study further until the correct answer for each question is given and understood. It is up to the CCMT, in diligence and good faith, to verify that the student is proceeding to comprehension and competence in the Chios information and techniques. For Chios levels I and II, the teacher may grant and deliver the degree after satisfactory conclusion of this process.

Application for Chios Master Teacher Degree Certification: For Chios level III (Chios Master Teacher), an important additional step applies. Prior to granting the Certified Chios Master Teacher Degree, the CCMT must deliver to the Chios Institute (by mail, email or fax) a written application for CCMT Certification for the student, including the following: 1) The student's name, address, email address and complete phone number; 2) A statement that the student has received the full series of 3 Chios attunements, and that attunements were given carefully, completely, with diligence and exactly according to the standardized procedures in the Chios Master Teacher's Attunements Manual; 3) A statement that the student has completely studied all 3 Chios Course Manuals; 4) A statement that the student has completed all 3 Chios Course Workbooks and delivered answers which have been checked by the CCMT, with incorrect answers restudied by the student, and 5) A statement that the student has been made aware of the necessity of complying with the Chios Code of Ethics, and also these Guidelines, as a Chios Master Teacher.

A standardized form for this application is available from the Institute, and will be provided upon request. Only after return approval of the application, from the Institute, shall the Certified Chios Master Teacher Degree be granted and delivered to the student and the Chios Master Teacher's Attunements Manual also be given, either in printed or PDF form. The student will then also be added to the list of Certified Chios Master Teachers, by the Institute. If the above procedure is not followed by the CCMT granting the degree, any degree granted the student will be non-valid, and the student will not be approved or listed as a Certified Chios Master Teacher, by the Institute. The Institute reserves the right to deny any application, at its discretion. The Institute also reserves the right to verify the quality of instruction given students referred for certification, through written or oral evaluations.

Decertification: CCMTs may be decertified (lose the right to use the Chios trademark, give Chios attunements & courses and grant Chios degrees) for serious violations, specifically: 1) Falsification of CCMT Certification Applications (certifying that students were properly instructed and attuned when that is not the case); 2) Other serious violations of the Chios CCMT Guidelines; 3) Serious violations of the Chios Code of Ethics, and 4) Other violations of a serious nature, involving unethical behavior and/or fraud. Decertified CCMTs will be removed from the Chios Institute approved CCMT list. Decertification may be either temporary or permanent in nature.

Guidelines for Pricing and Promotion

There are additional guidelines, regarding pricing and promotion, which Chios Master Teachers must observe in their teaching work:

Pricing for Attunements and Course Instruction: There are guideline minimum prices for attunement and instruction in the Chios levels. Guideline minimum prices for attunements plus instruction is US $50 for each Chios course level or US $125 for the full series of 3 Chios levels—or the equivalent in foreign currency. Advertising or offering of free attunements is specifically not allowed. Special exceptions to this pricing may be granted in the following circumstances: 1) Grants and scholarships to economically disadvantaged students, on a case-by-case basis; 2) Attunements and instruction offered and given in developing nations, on a regular or case-by-case basis, and 3) Other exceptions, on a regular or case-by-case basis. These exceptions may only be made after the CCMT contacts the Chios Institute in writing (by mail, email or fax) requesting the pricing exception and giving the reason. If the pricing exception is granted, the instruction offered must still meet all Guidelines for Attunements and Degree Certification, as discussed above. Attunement and instruction in Chios which is not initiated through any form of advertising (to family, friends or acquaintances) is exempt from these pricing requirements but must still meet all Guidelines. Prices higher than the guideline minimums is always allowed but attunement and instruction must again meet all Guidelines.

Advertising and Promotion: No advertising of Chios attunements and instruction may be misleading in any way nor misrepresent the content, requirements, benefits or costs associated with Chios attunement, course instruction and degree granting and certification. No advertising may in any way misrepresent the qualifications of the instructor. There are further specific rules: 1) No advertising may be made which alleges or implies endorsement, accreditation or certification by any person, governmental agency or group or association, unless such actually exists in written form and the advertising is not misleading nor misrepresentative in any way; 2) No advertising may contain any claim of ability to cure or assist in the cure of any disease or condition, unless specific and substantial scientific evidence supports the claim; 3) No advertising may allege or imply that the advertiser is a licensed health care professional unless the advertiser possesses a valid, current government license. No advertising may allege or imply that the instructor possesses an academic title (e.g. Dr. or Ph.D.) unless such is from a fully accredited institution. All such advertising claims must not be misleading nor misrepresentative in any way; 4) No alteration of the Chios trademark may be made, nor any offering of a “variation” or “version” of Chios (either in name or content). Chios exists in only one pure version, as taught and maintained by the Chios Institute; 5) No alteration of the official Chios logo may be made, an authorized version of which may be taken from the official Chios website and used by CCMTs in advertising; 6) No Chios attunements and instruction may be offered on Internet auction sites, regardless of price. If a CCMT has any concerns as to whether proposed advertising meets these requirements, the proposed advertisement may be submitted to the Chios Institute for evaluation.

Additional guidelines for groups and healing schools are in development and will be posted on this page in the future.
